Early in the morning, a comfortable bus will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan and take you on a scenic drive through the desert to Abu Simbel, the incredible rock temples built by Ramses II. When you arrive, you’ll see two huge temples carved directly into the mountain, with giant statues of Ramses and his queen Nefertari standing proudly at the entrance. Your guide will tell you fun and interesting stories about how these temples were built thousands of years ago—and how they were moved to higher ground to save them from the Nile! You’ll have time to walk inside, look at ancient drawings, and take amazing photos.
